A Love of Goodbyes

Written & performed by Mary-Frances Doherty

“But what about us? – We’ll always have Paris.”

Goodbye to a lover.  Goodbye to a friend.  Goodbye to a childhood dream.  Goodbye to a man who needed more time, to a friend who will never know, and a city you once called home.

A funny and touching performance that explores the ephemerality of life and our attempts to make it all make sense.

Age Guidance: 14+

Approx. running time: 35 minutes

"Celebration - shock and denial - pain and guilt - anger and rebellion - depression and loneliness - acceptance - they all played a part in the piece that encapsulated what it's like to find someone only to have to let them go. The grief here is palpable and I'd imagine a lot of this is personal experience...A strangely compelling, unusual and rather quirky piece...you may just fall a little more in love."
