How Tom Beat Captain Najork And His Hired Sportsmen

By Curious Doings

A lesson in the art of fooling around...

Adapted from Russell Hoban’s Book, this intensely physical performance tells the story of Tom, who is so good at fooling around that he does little else.  His Aunt Fidget Wonkham-Strong, who thinks that this is too much like having fun, calls upon the fearsome Captain Najork and his Hired Sportsmen to teach him a lesson

Curious Doings was the company formed from the pilot of a brand new postgraduate performer training programme at Queen’s University Belfast.  This show was the final result of the module of the course called CHILDSPLAY: MAKING PERFORMANCE FOR A YOUNGER AUDIENCE, and was performed as part of the Belfast Children’s Festival.
